AuVest WOD 7/31/2009

Alex demonstrating what we're all going to look like for the next month.

3 rounds:
400m sprint
Max ring dips
Max pullups

Time only the 400m, but do not take any rest between the run and the ring dips, or the ring dips and the pullups.  Rest as needed between rounds.

Post time for each 400m and numbers for each set of ring dips and each set of pullups to comments.

  1. Alex looks awesome in that pic. How do you sign me up?

  2. Jake: will we use 20lb for every wod as the standard unless posted otherwise? I don't want to have to start putting sand and rocks in my pockets because 20 is all I've got for my vest.

  6. Dale: 20# is the rx'd weight. I know some idiots will want to go heavier on some days, because they're even stupider than me, and I will not oppose them doing so, because I like to see people suffer.

  8. So, it's pronounced "ow-vest" from the french verb "auvestir" or "to suck wind"?

Got my vest . . . comes with 20lbs, and the threw in the dread for free . . .

    2) 2:01/14/18
    3) 2:20/12/22

I gradually found my groove on the pullups, hence the increase.

Whoever came up with this "AuVest" idea is a dick.

How is it that pictures of me keep appearing on random sites across the internet? Though I suppose I am quite photogenic...

Run was obstacle-heavy but counterterrorism doesn't occur at a track meet.

It's not official or anything, but I thought of a way to score this:

number of seconds on all the runs / total reps dips and pullups

  14. Fuck I didn't read the post right I did 5 Rounds!! Oh Well! I don't have my vest yet, SO I carried a 20lb sandbag on my shoulder during the run, and had a 18lb kettlebell hung between my legs with a 4lb chain for the dips and pullups. Thought I was gonna throw up around round 2. Took exactly 3:30 between rounds.

  16. Done on Day 2 (1 Auvest) as I had BJJ the day before.
Runs done in Vibrams (my other test bed).

    1:40, 15/20 - Rest 5:30
    1:39, 12/15 - Rest 5:37
    1:44, 8/16

I'll make up the DL's tomorrow, but also have BJJ. Hmmm.

Warmed up by finishing building my pullup bars. Man, that was a 2 hr "warmup" itself. Hate it when the builders lay the sheet rock 90 degrees from the studs but tape and paint it to fool you.
